In October 2019 Fleischhauer Datenträger successfully completed the procedure of re-certification in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. Since 2012 Fleischhauer has been re-certified continuously in accordance to ISO 14001 standard for its excellent environmental management. General manager Philipp Halbach considers this re-certification as important contribution to the company's corporate philosophy, which is based on sustainability and a high level of environmental awareness. As Halbach explains, "The certification in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard bears witness to our sustained efforts to analyse the environmental relevance of every single process that takes place within the company and continuously improve the environmental performance of our products." The successful environmental re-certification procedure confirms the detailed documentation of all processes, from materials management through all stages of production including also the administration. Fleischhauer's team is proud of the continuous professional implementation of its environmental management, the high level of environmental orientation and the future-oriented company culture.

General manager Philipp Halbach regards the environmental management certificate as evidence that an important, well-balanced triad has been established: "Fleischhauer Datenträger is the leading ticket manufacturer who meets the highest certification requirements relating to quality, security and environmental protection and confirms compliance with these requirements continuously by means of external audits." Apart from the environmental management certificate, Fleischhauer Datenträger also holds a certificate for climate-neutral printing. "This offers our customers a means of having their products printed without leaving a carbon footprint," Halbach explains the importance of the measure. "People are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental impact of products and processes, particularly when it comes to car parking and mass transportation." Fleischhauer Datenträger already won an award presented to companies with particularly forward-looking environmental orientation within the framework of an inter-community Eco Profit project.

In its capacity as a member of the Halbach Group, Fleischhauer Datenträger is part of a family-owned business that can now look back over 185 years of company history. General manager Philipp Halbach, who runs the business today as the sixth generation of the family, sees the company's claim to innovation confirmed by the marked emphasis placed on its concern for the environment: "We have played a consistent role in shaping developments in the ticketing sector over the last decades. The first tickets dispensed by automatic car park systems were produced by Fleischhauer Datenträger, for example, to be later followed by other product developments in the fields of contactless chip cards and RFID tickets." With its environmental protection certificates, Fleischhauer Datenträger is playing a pioneering role when it comes to sustainability and climate protection.
